Employment or Independent Contractor Agreements
Picture this scenario: An employee and supervisor constantly find themselves “arguing” about the terms and conditions agreed upon when the employee was first hired. Both parties have different versions of the benefits and vacation days promised to the employee. Hours and days are spent discussing options, consulting peers, and hashing out an agreement after the fact. Not a productive use of time, and the whole thing could’ve been avoided with an employment contract signed at the time of hire.
Contract agreements set out expectations and responsibilities for both employer and employee, particularly with respect to work hours, compensation, notice, and responsibilities. There are different types of contracts for employees and independent contractors; both are legally binding for each party concerned.
We can help you put clear, comprehensive contracts in place with your employees and contractors. We will:
- Put together template agreements for both types of contracts (employee and independent contractor)
- Advise on how to implement new contract agreements for existing employees, or update existing contracts with new or revised clauses
- Manage the roll out of contracts including company-wide communications (if applicable).
Note: We highly recommend you have our contracts vetted by your employment lawyer prior to their adoption of the contracts. Since our fees are generally lower than a lawyer’s, you could use our services to create a draft contract and have a lawyer give it a quick review.
